We Are All Happy ChildrenLately I've been busy acting in a film about a north korean dissident artist who washes ashore a California beach, experiences the western art world, and tries to make sense of her painful experience as a defector/surviver through an art installation of her own making. We watched a documentary on north korea to ground us in our subject and the whole filming experience got me thinking about what a privilege it is to live in a world where free speech is honored.
